Hospital Munsterlingen

The Thurgau Hospital is considered a role model in the Swiss healthcare system, both medically and organizationally. With the new psychiatric building in Münsterlingen by the architects Scheitlin-Syfrig, they are expanding the hospital campus with an atypical hospital building.
C2F was commissioned for their «architectural art»-project. In dialogue with the client and the users, they developed a concept for the design of the two atriums that pierce the building. They bring light into the corridors and also create the only possible visual connection between the people in the stations. The opposing gradients in different colors create an atmospheric play of color and light with the natural daylight and the lighting at night, which also supports orientation in the building.
