KIOSK Zurich

The KIOSK is located in a prominent position in the city of Zurich. The historic park on Bürkliplatz, with the Maillard Pavilion and the Swiss National Bank building, offers ample space for visitors to linger and for public events, including the weekly market. The KIOSK serves as a food outlet, the location of the market police, and also houses public toilets.

C2F lettered this small but important building on behalf of the city of Zurich. The headlines “KIOSK” and “WC” on the back are prominent in terms of size and lighting. The typography references historical lettering on Zurich buildings. Its materiality and color scheme allow it to blend naturally into the architecture without losing the necessary functional contrast. As the reflective copper surfaces age naturally, their color will change, increasingly embedding the building in its historical context.
